Privacy statement Household waste
Waardlanden handles the collection of waste and raw materials for the municipalities of Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Molenlanden and Vijfheerenlanden. In performing these tasks, personal data are also processed.
Residents of the municipalities of Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam and Molenlanden have been able to influence part of the waste disposal charges since 1 January 2024. A part is fixed and a part is variable. This varying part is called the recycling rate. It is a new way of calculating waste charges. A resident of the municipalities of Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam or Molenlanden separates raw materials well and has little residual waste. Then the costs will be lower than when a resident has a lot of residual waste. Registering data thus becomes more important.
This does not apply to residents of the Vijfheerenlanden municipality. For residents of the Vijfheerenlanden municipality, there will be no change in the way waste charges are calculated. The Vijfheerenlanden municipality will decide on the recycling fee after an evaluation of the effects of the other measures (such as access control at the environmental centres and on the collection containers for residual waste).
The way in which the municipalities and Waardlanden handle this personal data is laid down in a specific privacy statement that deals with the collection of waste/raw materials. A separate privacy statement applies to the Vijfheerenlanden municipality because the recycling tariff does not (yet) apply there.
