Back to overview

You live in a flat, flat or upstairs flat in the built-up area of the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden. Or you live in a low-rise house and do not have space for three commodity containers. You probably live in the centre of Leerdam or Vianen, for example. You take your separated waste to nearby collection containers. Together with the municipalities, we want to encourage and help residents to separate less waste and even better. Good for the environment and your wallet.

You can dispose of your food waste and fruit, vegetable and garden (VGF) waste free of charge in the VGF waste collection containers in your neighbourhood using your environmental card. Do you want to use bags? Only compostable bags with the Kiemplant logo or OK-compost logo can be used for VGF waste.

Dispose of Pmd and residual waste together

You dispose of your plastic packaging, metal packaging and drink cartons (pmd) together with your residual waste in the collection container for residual waste. This waste is collected separately and later sorted by machines. You open the container with your environmental pass. As a resident of the Vijfheerenlanden municipality, you do not have to pay separately for this. Less residual waste is better for the environment and your wallet.

Collection container for glass in the neighbourhood

Dispose of all glass containers such as bottles and jars in the glass collection container in the neighbourhood or at a shopping centre. Caps and lids can stay on. These are separated from the glass at the factory. Make sure the containers are empty. Small leftovers are also no problem. Rinsing is therefore not necessary.

Tips

Less residual waste! How? By avoiding unnecessary waste. If waste does arise, we separate it for reuse or recycling. In this way, we do not waste raw materials and do not deplete the earth. We can only achieve this together. You can help too!
