Summer means time for fun trips to festivals, the beach and other great outdoor spots. It is important to leave them tidy. With these handy tips, you will ensure less waste during your summer adventures.

Bring a rubbish bag

If you go boating, hiking or cycling, you don't know when you will come across a rubbish bin. Therefore, take a small rubbish bag yourself. This way, you can collect your waste and later dispose of it in a bin on the way or at home.

Use your own bag

Before heading out, pack your own bag. Whether you are shopping before leaving or buying souvenirs on location, having your own bag eliminates unnecessary use of plastic bags.

Opt for reusable cutlery and cup

Think in advance about food and drink during your outing. Bring a reusable cup for coffee or have your snacks in your own tray at the snack bar. This way, you will reduce the use of disposable cutlery and cups.

Prepare your own snacks

Avoid last-minute purchases of convenience food in disposable packaging with your own snacks or meals in reusable containers.

Borrow instead of buy

Going camping or hosting a party? Consider borrowing stuff from family, friends, neighbours or on sharing platforms instead of buying everything new. It saves money and reduces waste.

Clean up before you leave

Complete your outing by not only avoiding litter, but also by cleaning up litter you find along the way. Use the litter bag you carry with you to do so.

With these simple tips, you can enjoy a summer worry-free and full of outdoor fun. Moreover, at the same time, you will contribute to a cleaner environment for everyone. Have a great summer!
